Dear Reader,
Thank you so much for subscribing to my mailing list, and for your patience. I’m not the most regular sender of newsletters, but I do have some good news to share.
I recently had the pleasure of catching up with Kelly Oliver Dougall on her brilliant podcast, In the Therapy Room — a space where women share their stories and experiences. We last spoke a year ago, and a lot has changed since then.
We talked about the UK Supreme Court’s ruling on the definition of a woman, and the Sandie Peggie employment tribunal. We also discussed my new crime thriller, The Three Bridges Murder, and explored the darker sides of surrogacy and human egg donation, themes that play a central role in the novel.
It was an honest, lively conversation — one I thoroughly enjoyed. I hope you’ll enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed taking part.

I’m also delighted to announce the 2025 Advent Calendar of Fiction featuring my new novella Unbuyable — a gripping, unflinching crime thriller about survival, resistance, and the price of silence. Each day during December a new chapter will appear, concluding on Christmas Eve. Access to the story is free but, in the spirit of giving, we hope readers might consider making a small donation to Build A Girl UK, a charitable organisation supporting girls and young women at risk of sexual exploitation. So, set a reminder to open the first door on December 1st at https://drewaugustine.com/christmas-appeal/
With warm wishes,
Drew x
